More than 800 teenagers learned about "Internet Security" from Tcell on the summer holidays

Tcell continues the large-scale project for schoolchildren "Safe Internet". During the summer holidays, when schoolchildren throughout the country were resting in summer camps, Tcell visited the children in 7 summer camps in Varzob, Romit and GBAO and conducted interactive lessons on "Internet Security".

At “Internet Security” lessons, more than 800 children and teenagers from 10 to 17 years learned about useful and correct ways of using the Internet. Where to find useful information for studying, what educational resources exist, how to learn new skills, how to distinguish reliable information and resources from "fakes" - these questions turned out to be very important and meaningful for children.

Tcell launched “Internet Security” project for high school students (13-16 years) in April 2017, as a reaction to the trends in the development of relationships between children and the global network. Today’s kids were born in the era of computers, gadgets, smartphones and the Internet. They cannot imagine the world without these things. They communicate, express themselves, find friends, work and study online, using the endless possibilities of the network. They quickly adapt to everything new, and they create content themselves.

Launching “Internet Security” project, Tcell aims to increase the Internet literacy of the younger generation, to teach useful ways of using the network for development and self-education.

Another important topic that is touched upon during interactive lessons is the possible threats that children may encounter on the network. Representatives of Tcell explained to the children what is Internet fraud, how not to fall for bait to scammers or hackers, how to avoid burglary and viruses, what could result from networking with strangers.

During the lessons, kids show extensive knowledge about the global network: they easily use the services, applications, resources, since 8-10 years old. Most play online computer games, and have profiles in social networks. As a result of the lessons, all the children understood how to avoid viruses, make correct passwords, secure the account on social networks, find useful information for study and hobbies.

Young people are an important strategic goal for Tcell, and increasing their knowledge about the useful and proper use of the Internet is extremely important for the development of society as a whole. With the beginning of the academic year, Tcell representatives in all regions of Tajikistan will continue to visit schoolchildren during classes and communicate with them on the topic of security on the Internet.

In February 2018, the Global Event Awards recognized Tcell’s “Internet Security” project as the best social project in the Central Asian region.
