Tcell develops the network in the Regions of Republican Subordination.

Tcell continues to improve its network in the Regions of Republican Subordination. As a result of recent work on the technical modernization of the network, more than 17,000 people gained access to the Internet from Tcell in the Gissar and Tursunzade districts of Tajikistan! In these areas, four new 3G base stations that cover 16 towns have been installed.

By installing new 3G base stations, Tcell provided more than 17,000 residents of small villages with the opportunity to join the global Internet. Having become active Internet users, they will be able to use a huge amount of information resources, and with the help of online communication applications, they will always be able to stay in touch with their relatives and friends who are away.

Access to the Internet will also give them the opportunity to tell the world about themselves. There definitely is something to tell about: the Gissar and Tursunzade areas lie in the picturesque green Gissar valley. The valley was full of life from time immemorial: the Great Silk Road laid here, numerous historical artifacts were found here, even ancient monumental buildings, such as the Gissar Fortress, which is more than 2500 years old!

The nature in the Gissar Valley is also unique: these are mountainous clear rivers, snowy peaks on the horizon, unique flora and fauna. In the Shirkent gorge, located in the Tursunzade district, you can find rocks on which dinosaur footprints are perfectly preserved - this is one of the extremely rare finds all over the world!

Thus, getting access to the Internet from Tcell, residents of the Gissar and Tursunzade districts will be able to be in touch with the whole world, receiving relevant and useful information from the global community, and sharing unique stories of their region.

Tcell Company continues large-scale technical work on the expansion and strengthening of the network. Modernization will be carried out in all regions of Tajikistan: in the capital, RRS, Sughd, Khatlon and GBAO, which will provide even more territory with reliable coverage of 3G and 4G networks. As part of the technical modernization, in the Rasht, Tajikabad and Lakhsh regions, 9 new 3G base stations have been installed. The fourth generation network - 4G over the past few months has been expanded to the territory of the cities of Kulyab, Rogun, Dangara and Khorog.

Tcell is the largest telecommunications company in Tajikistan, the only shareholder of which is the Aga Khan Foundation for Economic Development (AKFED). AKFED is an international development agency dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship and the creation of economically sustainable enterprises. AKFED is one of the agencies of the AKDN system - a network of private development agencies that are aimed at improving the opportunities and living conditions of the peoples of the developing world. Tcell projects won the “Gold” and “Silver” of the Central Asian award “Event Awards Central Asia”!

“Event Awards Central Asia”

The results of the Central Asian Independent Award in the field of event marketing “Event Awards Central Asia” have been announced. The Tcell project “Advertising Campaign for Affordable Roaming in Uzbekistan” was awarded Gold in the “Best Online Event” category! A joint project of Tcell and Radio Asia Plus “Reading together” - received Silver in the nomination “The Best Social Project”.

The Event Awards Central Asia is a professional Central Asian Independent Award, which is awarded for creative achievements in the field of event marketing. The prize is awarded to the most successful projects implemented during the last year in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

This year, about 60 projects from the largest organizations of the region working in the field of event marketing competed for the Gold Award. Evaluation of projects was carried out by an independent jury of the most respected actors of the event industry, heads of HR, PR and marketing departments of companies in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Latvia, Slovakia and Moldova, as well as representatives of professional media and artists.

Tcell brought the "Gold" award to Tajikistan for the project "Advertising Campaign for Affordable Roaming in Uzbekistan" in the category "Best Online Event". In February 2018, for two neighboring countries sharing a common geographical space, culture and many traditions - Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, a historic event took place. Borders closed to citizens for almost 20 years have been opened, and the visa regime has been simplified. The people of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan with great enthusiasm and joy received this news.

Tcell responded to the flow of tourists, and released a new product - Affordable Roaming in Uzbekistan, reducing the price of Internet in roaming by 16 times. The advertising campaign of the product has been launched on digital channels - in the media and social networks, with the inclusion of Storytelling, to enrich the content with emotional stories.

One of the projects launched to promote affordable roaming was the project “Salom, Neighbors!” in partnership with Asia Plus Media Group. The project tells in short and emotional video stories about important moments of life on both sides of the border, about the history, traditions and culture of the two countries.

“Our Roaming project in Uzbekistan was a simple product, the purpose of which was to show that roaming could be affordable and people could easily use it to connect with a home on a trip to Uzbekistan that they missed so much for the long years of border closure between neighboring countries. When we got the project idea from Asia Plus, which included deep and interesting stories, we knew that this was exactly what was needed. We enriched the product promotion content with emotional stories that showed the best aspects of both countries. I am sure that this project is very emotional, it touched the hearts of many people, and this is exactly what we need to do as a brand,” said Kethie Pirtskhalava, Director of Tcell Marketing Communications Department.

"Silver" award in the category "The best social project", went to the project "Reading together", created by Asia Plus radio station with Tcell support. In June 2018, Asia Plus and Tcell visited more than 350 children from 4 orphanages and boarding schools in Dushanbe. Famous Tajik musicians came to the children deprived of parental warmth and attention, and together with the children, they uncovered a treasury of fairy tales, poems and stories.

The project helped the children understand that they are very significant in this world. Famous singers, whom the children saw only on TV screens, came to visit them, read fairy tales, spent time with them, played games and sang songs together. The main idea of the project is to give children not so much gifts for the holidays, as care and warmth.

A detailed description of the EACA award is available on the official website: https://www.eaca.pro/ and on the official Facebook page of the award: https://www.facebook.com/EventAwardsCA/

Last year, Tcell was also awarded the EACA-2017 award. The launch of the Rogun hydropower plant

November 16, 2018 is a historic day for the whole Tajikistan! On President’s Day, which is celebrated annually on this day, the first unit of the Rogun hydropower plant was officially launched, which means that a huge step has been taken towards the fulfillment of one of the Strategic goals for the sustainable development of the country's economy - ensuring the energy independence of Tajikistan! Tcell congratulated all its Rogun subscribers, giving them free megabytes of traffic, and provided a reliable connection to all participants of the launch ceremony.

The launch of the Rogun hydropower plant, which will become the largest hydropower plant in Central Asia, is a big step in creating a single energy system of the country. Constant and confident development of the state’s economy is impossible without energy independence and full provision of all sectors with electricity, which the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has repeatedly stressed out in his speeches.

Tcell, being a socially oriented company, and supporting the development of the economic sphere, supported the launch ceremony of the giant of hydropower industry in Tajikistan. The Tcell mobile base station operates on the territory of the facility, providing reliable mobile connection on the territory of the hydropower station and for all the guests of the launch ceremony: representatives of foreign countries, international organizations, diplomatic missions of foreign countries, and the press.

Tcell congratulated all its subscribers in Rogun on this event - as a gift, each subscriber received 100 MB for using the Internet!

A few months earlier, Tcell provided more than 15,000 Rogun residents with new technological capabilities. Tcell was the first telecommunications company to introduce a 4G network in Rogun. Residents of the city are already using all the advantages of high-speed surfing the Internet at speeds of 4G up to 50Mbit/s!

“The development of economically stable enterprises is impossible today without reliable communications and innovative solutions in the telecommunications sector. High-speed Internet in modern technologies helps to improve the quality of performance, automates and simplifies processes in economic enterprises. That is why today 4G from Tcell is operating in the strategically important city of Rogun. A stable energy network throughout the country is one of the most important components of our business. We, together with all Tajikistanis, sincerely rejoice at the launch of the first unit of the largest hydropower plant in the region and congratulate everyone on this historic event!” says Tcell General Director Ozodkhon Davlatshoev.
