An ethno-festival "The Roof of the World" was held in the city of Khorog, from July 27 to 29. “The Roof of the World” is an annual music festival that gathers guests from all over Tajikistan, as well as near and far abroad, performing live national music. Tcell has been a partner of the festival for several recent years, supporting the cultural development of the society.

The venue of the festival was chosen specifically: throughout the 20th century, Khorog was a trade hub on the Pamir tract and remains so today. The city has stood at the crossroads of civilizations on the Great Silk Road for centuries, absorbing and assimilating the culture and traditions of many other nations. This left a trace in the development of the arts of GBAO today. Music for the Pamirs is a way of life. In this region it is difficult to find a person who could not dance. Only in GBAO there are more than 80 types of dances! All of them are extremely ancient, and passed down from generation to generation.

Tcell took an active part in the festival. Especially for the youngest guests, a children's zone was organized from Tcell, where the kids could paint, show their own creativity, and play fun games.

Tcell welcomes cultural events, because the expression of art and traditions is a very important part of the life of any person. This festival is the largest event in the field of live ethnic music in Tajikistan. It is nice to see, as from year to year, the festival expands its borders and becomes multi-national."

The "Roof of the World" festival aims to exchange cultures and preserve the cultural traditions of different peoples. This year guests from the USA, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and all regions of Tajikistan presented their art at the festival! For the first time at the festival the music collective from Uzbekistan "Sogdiana" also performed, which was greeted with warm applause. The team from the USA "Filigar" performs in the style of rock and roll, but on "The Roof of the World" musicians immersed themselves in the traditions of other peoples, and decided to transfer this style to their future works.

In the program of the festival, besides musical and dancing ethnic performances, there were also master classes for musicians, music critics and students. At the end of the concerts, there were screenings of documentary and feature films about the traditions of the region.
